ULFA linkman arrested by SF from Meghalaya

Shillong, Sep 16 : One ULFA 'linkman' has been arrested by security force personnel on Wednesday from Meghalaya. A source from the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya in Shillong informed today that on September 14 at around 9 pm, getting on a specific information, troops of BOP Hathimara, Ex-114 Bn BSF deployed in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Indian national working as ULFA linkman near BP no 1094/2-S, while he was trying to infiltrate into India. The apprehended person has been identified as Ranjay Hajong (40 yrs), s/o Late Madhav Hajong, Genapara, Purakhasia,  Dalu, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.

In preliminary questioning it was revealed that the man has been working as ULFA linkman since 2004 and facilitating cross border movement of ULFA cadres. The 'linkman' also admitted that since 2003, individual had been living in Bangladesh and also got married with a Bangladesh lady, the BSF source said

The apprehended ULFA linkman has been handed over to Dalu police station for legal action. Border Security Force personnel based in Assam and Meghalaya have stepped up extra vigil and intensified operation along the international border to check illegal infiltration/ exfiltration and trans border crimes, said the source.
